ECC Toastmasters Club announced Outstanding Toastmaster award for first half of 2009-10.
The first award of Outstanding Toastmaster of ECCTM goes to our ever smiling Toastmaster who jumps in to the scene to grab any opportunity, none other than our own TM Shuaib Kandoth! He deserve it for sure!
Congratulations to TM Shuaib.
During last six months, TM Shuaib completed 4 project speeches, two times Best Speaker award in our club, completed two CL projects, mentoring one member, serving in excom as secretary, he has got 85% attendance! Visited other clubs 4 times! In total he scored 24 points!
Coming close with 23 points, here stands our most creative member and inspiring president TM Shafeek! To his credit, he brought one new member to our club, mentoring one member, did two project speeches, Best Table Topic Speaker award once, visited other clubs 3 times and 92% attendance!
Who is in third position? You know him very well. The owner of that powerful voice! One of the most talented speaker of our club! Yes it is our VP Membership TM Sajid KT. He got most number of club meeting awards in his credit! Two times best evaluator, and best speaker and best table topic speaker one time each. Mentoring one member, completed one CL project, three prepared speeches and 92% attendance! In total he got 21 points.
I wish to give special mention to our two new members TM Dharmajan and TM Firoz! TM Dharmajan got two best Table Topic speaker awards, he visited other clubs three times, did one project speech and one CL project. TM Firoz brought one new member to our club, did one prepared speech and one CL Project. In even lesser period, their achievement and involvement is commendable.
The outstanding Toastmasters is selected based on various criteria which has got its own weight in overall score. It measures members' overall involvement in Toastmasters activities. If anyone wants to benefit most out of joining toastmasters, one should involve most and utilise its full potential. It will ensure one's overall development! Toastmaster is not only about public speaking, but overall human development if one use it!
In July, we will be announcing the Outstanding Toastmaster for second half as well as for the year!
We congratulate every member for taking first step by joining the Toastmasters Club and for all your efforts that you put to advance yourself to the next level. In this short span of 6 months, we have seen lots of improvements in our members and some of them have already surprised everybody with their amazing improvements and achievements!

Three reasons why you should bring more members to your Toastmasters Club
Help the society
Somebody introduced you to Toastmasters and you are reaping the benefit out of it. Now it is your turn to introduce this to somebody you care! By introducing someone to Toastmasters, you are helping him for his personal development which in turn will help him to grow! Remember the proverb, ‘Give a man a fish, you have fed him for the day; teach a man to fish, and you have fed him for a lifetime’. By showing a man the way to Toastmasters and helping him to achieve his personal goal, you are teaching him to fish and feeding him for a lifetime! There are many people around us who have big dreams and ambitions! They even realize that they have to improve their communication and leadership skills, they need to network with people and come out of the box, but they don’t know how and where to start with. They just need a gentle push.
Help yourself
When you have more members and new members, you are getting opportunity to do your meeting roles in front of wider and variety of audience, which will enhance your improvement. It will keep your learning curve high always by keeping yourself away from being comfortable in front of the same faces all the time. Having more members with different background and skill levels helps to conduct vibrant meetings and enhance creativity in club and among members!
Help the club
Toastmasters is a not-for-profit organization and clubs keeps the spirit of Toastmasters by making it more affordable to large number of people from all walks of life. It can’t financially survive without having a certain number of paid members in order to meet its heavy fixed costs like meeting hall rent! The survival of the club is paramount important for all the current members as well as future generation to come! It should keep going in order to serve more people to achieve their goals and dreams!
